Tariffs and How the Pugs will Fare

It's plainly obvious to everyone in the world that the United States is in a state of economic flux--call it whiplash. Whether you believe the current administration might be manipulating the market, fixing all the things, or just throwing darts, the one thing we can all agree on is that nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. We are preparing for the worse while monitoring the situation.

Pug Life is, for the most part, a one-woman, four pugs, two lizards, and an occasional partner-as-assistant show based in Seattle in the US. The tariffs will affect this small business at some point. I have partnered with some great companies located throughout the world and will utilize these relationships to (hopefully) keep prices as low as possible. We have been slowly offering more products produced outside the US for our International pug friends.

Made in the US - The majority of our products are currently made entirely or printed in the US. For the most part these items will remain the same price for those in the United States until our vendors prices go up and it trickles down. For those of you outside the US, I have been working to find partners outside the US that can produce our products with the same quality and ethical standards that you expect.

Made in Canada - We have been adding more products made in Canada for our pug lovers to the North of us. At this time, this will keep pricing low for Canadians! At this time, pricing on these items will also not increase for US customers, but we will continue to monitor the situation.

Made in UK - Our UK sewing facility continues to offer high-quality goods, shipped quickly. For most of the world, our Made in the UK products will remain the same price. We will continue to monitor pricing for US-based customers as the pause come sto an end.

Made in Vietnam - We love our Vietnamese partner and are working with them to keep pricing low. At this time, pricing will not increase on items from our Vietnamese factory to the US, but we will monitor the situation. Aloha Pug also produces their products at this Vietnamese sewing facility. Trump has proposed a ridiculous 46% tariff on Vietnam goods, but negotiations are in the works during this current pause.

Harnesses, Treat Pouches, and Drip Pads - At this time, these items ship directly from Hong Kong. So far, pricing remains the same, but this will not last long. I expect these prices to go up significantly in the next week.
