Sun in Seattle? Time for Aloha Shirts!!!!

As the sun begins to shine more in Seattle, with an obvious lack of snow this winter, the pugs are risking the cold for more time outside! We have to take what we can get here in the PNW. The Big Dark is only on a break, but the last few months of 2024 were dark and damp, so we're welcoming the blue skies, even if there is frost on the ground.

To celebrate the sun in Seattle, we just listed a whole bunch of Pet Aloha Shirts from Aloha Pug! We love these easy snap-on shirts in a ton of fun designs! We have pug patterns, some obviously meant for cats, and tropical flowers perfect for all animals! That's right, not everything has a pug on it.

We get asked a lot about sizing on these shirts, and I will say, like all pet clothes, pugs are hard to dress! We've got four pugs in four very different sizes. Here's what we've found with these shirts!

Lyapuff weighs in at 10 pounds, maybe hitting 11 if she's been going to treat class. She wears a small. She will be a year old in March (or 2025), so no she isn't a 8-week-old puppy, but full grown.

Lulu wears a large Hawaiian shirt. She currently weighs around 15-16 pounds (she was 15.8 at her last vet exam in November). She has a broader chest and neck, and more fluff than Patty, so sometimes if she's extra fluffy, she can't button the top button. It still looks super cute with the top button unbuttoned, and fits her well.

This is Patty and Lulu (when she weighed 17 pounds) in a large.

Patty is thin and wiry, but a bit taller than Lulu. She clocks in at 17 pounds. She has a small neck, a very small neck and a small head. She can wear a medium or a large--with the top button buttoned. So while she's fatty Patty, she actually wears a smaller size in Aloha shirts than Lulu because of her small neck.

Lenore wearing an XL.

Lenore is big boned at 18 pounds. She's broad and barrel like, but also very tall! She wears an XL and it's a bit relaxed, so we knot it up on the side like a 1980s schoolgirl. She can fit into the large Hawaiian shirt with some shoving, but it looks tight.

As for cats: Most cats wear a small! But account for their foof! We aren't talking Maine Coon's of course, measure them like the dog the are!

Definitely check the size chart and order your Pet Aloha Shirt accordingly! We know it's hard to dress pugs, and because of that, we can't make or source "Pug-specific" clothing. No two pugs are alike, and our four run the gamut, so we try to stock variety and be honest with our sizing. ALWAYS check the size chart. While we say there are limited returns and exchanges, that's mostly so you'll check the size chart!

The Pug Haus pugs were the models for Aloha Pug, but they haven't tried on all the shirts--we've included the stock imagery for all the Pet Hawaiian Shirts and will add additional photos as they become available. Shop Pet Aloha Shirts now!
