It's been a little over a month since Lyapuff first showed signs of warts, and the little warty mcwart face is finally through the worst of it.
Unlike Patty whose wart fell off after a couple days and no more popped up, Lyapuff started with one and two more popped up. Then it took a few weeks to go away, and that's with supplements. As I said before, this is the first time in half a century of having dogs that I've encountered warts.

Canine oral papilloma virus (COPV) is not contagious to humans, but highly contagious to other dogs, so our poor dogs have been home for months, quarantining away from other dogs. so as not to spread these yucky things. Now we go through a thorough cleaning of all the toys and surfaces in the house, and then wait to see if any of the other dogs develop warts. Fingers crossed, as we've had to cancel a few trips already.
So back to Lyapuff, she loved the Thuja supplements and enjoyed her special treat. Did they help? Maybe. They didn't hurt. They didn't go away in eight days like many of the online studies, but also those were combined with other supplements and Puff wasn't the easiest to administer the pellets to. I feel like they would be easier with a dog with a snout instead of a big old flap.
The warts never bothered her at all. They were totally benign. With Patty, one day she had it and one day she didn't. With Puff, one day she had then and then another and then they got bigger and then slowly smaller. Both seem to be normal.
We'll keep monitoring Lyapuff and the other pugs for more warts and will keep you updated. If you're here because of the warts, know that they will go away! Eventually.
